Biography

Phoebe is a Hepatology Clinical Nurse Consultant at Latrobe Regional Health. Her career in hepatology began as a community hepatitis C nurse in 2016, shortly after completing a Masters in International Health. She transitioned into her current role and is expanding her scope of practice through a nurse practitioner candidacy. Phoebe is a current Board member of the Australian Hepatology Association, and a past board member of LiverWELL, a consumer advocacy organisation for people living with or at risk of liver disease. She is passionate about educating colleagues and the next generation of healthcare workers about liver disease. Phoebe has an interest in many areas of hepatology, including viral hepatitis, alcohol-related liver disease, cirrhosis and liver cancer. She works to reduce the number of emergency presentations due to decompensated cirrhosis by facilitating a link between an admission and out-patient liver clinic. Phoebe believes in delivering hepatology services that are accessible, sustainable, and cost-effective. She is dedicated to raising the profile of hepatology nurse practitioners to improve health outcomes for people with liver disease, especially in regional settings
