Sally began nursing as an AIN in aged care, and has progressed through a number of clinical leadership roles in oncology and critical care. Sally was appointed to the Director of Nursing Practice Innovation in the Office of the Chief Nurse Officer in April 2023. Sally has through her career, demonstrated passion for the profession of nursing with a particular interest in leadership, advanced practice and innovation. Her first-hand experience taught her early on, the significant role we play in advocating for patients and influencing health and aged care systems at large.  With a strong belief that our collective experience makes us uniquely qualified to participate in strategic planning and policy development for healthcare services, Sally uses her professional and union platforms to protect and advance the nursing, midwifery and care professions at every opportunity. She has been working with many Divisions within Queensland Health and QUT to continue to advocate and evolve the role of NPs in Endoscopy service delivery in Queensland
