Biography

Kylee is a Registered Nurse with over 25 years’ experience in Endoscopy/Gastroenterology Nursing. Currently the Clinical Nurse Manager (previously Clinical Nurse Consultant) of the Endoscopy Unit at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Nedlands, Western Australia, a position she has held for the past 15 years. Kylee possesses a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) from Curtin University (1996) and a Post Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Management (2014). As an Endoscopy Nurse in a large Tertiary Hospital, IKylee has extensive experience assisting in both diagnostic and interventional gastroenterology procedures, and is responsible for developing all the Endoscopy Standard Operating Procedures both within the department and the hospital. Kylee continues to work on the floor and participate in on-call emergency procedures to maintain her clinical skills, mentor my junior staff, and because she loves it! Kylee has a particular passion for the care of patients with Gastrostomy Tubes and performs a Nurse Lead PEG Clinic weekly. As the PEG resource Nurse for both the Hospital and external agencies Kylee regularly provides both practical and theory-based education sessions. Kylee also has an interest in Infection Control and is a member of the hospital’s Sterilisation and Disinfection Working Group where she is involved in the ongoing assessment and implementation of AS4187 throughout the organisation.
