Biography

Bronagh Costello is a Nurse Practitioner Endoscopist in the Logan Hospital Endoscopy Department. She first discovered endoscopy nursing while on the casual pool in 2007 and soon became permanent in the department. Since then she has continued to work as an endoscopy nurse, gaining valuable experience working in London as well as Charters Towers in North Queensland. After returning to Logan Hospital in 2013, she completed a graduate certificate in gastroenterology nursing through QUT, worked as a clinical nurse acting in Inflammatory Bowel Disease Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) and Endoscopy Assessment Clinic CNC roles and then went on to complete a Masters of Nurse Practitioner. Bronagh has been a nurse endoscopist for just over three years and enjoys the challenges her job provides. She is passionate about the expansion of nurse practitioner endoscopist role in Australia and is hoping to publish the high quality of care our nurses are providing across the state later this year. Bronagh balances a busy family life with two children and her work commitments She is a proud GENCA member and received the GENCA writers award in 2017 for her article, IBD In Pregnancy.
