Biography
Sarah Sage has been a nurse for 26 years and working in Wound Management for 18 years. She coordinates the Royal Melbourne Hospital Chronic Wound Service and wound CNC team. Sarah is a Nurse Practitioner and Lymphoedema therapist and works privately with Healthcare United. She has been involved in 2 RCTs on prophylactic dressings and pressure injury development. She has recently published on the impact of COVID-19 on complex wound care patients and healthcare staff PPE related-skin injury. Her current areas of focus are barriers system design to promote patient and staff safety, patient directed goal setting in chronic wound management and extending the role of the advanced practice wound nurse. Sarah holds a graduate certificate in wound care, a graduate certificate in health economics and economic evaluation, a Master’s degree in Advanced Nursing Practice and has formal training in lymphoedema management and motivational interviewing. Sarah has commenced a Masters of Philosophy with the University of Sydney.
