Biography
Bek Goldsmith grew up with the hospital as her second home, accumulating a long list of diagnoses. Her first , Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis at 11 months old requiring a liver transplant at 13 years old, Ulcerative Colitis at 8 years old, requiring an ileostomy for 4 years and having a j-pouch formed at 14 years old. Bek is tube-fed overnight, and also has weekly saline infusions through her Portacath to manage her Postural Orthastatic Tachycardic Syndrome. Bek acts as the Ambassador for PSC Support Australia. Outside of the medical world Bek is currently studying Early Childhood Education, and runs a once-a-week Playgroup. She's very involved in musical theatre, both on stage and backstage, spending most of her time in a theatre or rehearsal room.
