I (Jess Woodward) started with Monash Health as a Graduate Nurse in 2018, and after completing my Grad year I returned to Dandenong Emergency Department (ED) permanently. I’ve been fortunate enough to grow my career at Dandenong ED over a seven year period; having completed my Masters in Advanced Clinical Nursing (Emergency) and securing positions, such as Clinical Nurse Specialist and Associate Nurse Manager. Whilst I contribute to various portfolios, as well as quality improvement initiatives at Dandenong my passion is staff welfare. In my experience, looking after your team and their welfare has a profound impact on culture, productivity and outcomes achieved. The proof is in the pudding! I’m also responsible for Life Saving Victoria’s Member Leadership and Development Youth Programs. Welfare plays a pivotal role in how we design and deliver youth programs across the state.
