Abdi holds a dual appointment as a senior lecturer at Victoria University and Research Nurse L4 at Austin Health Emergency Department. Abdi has been an ED nurse for the past 22 years and is currently involved in researching on ED patient care and safety processes and has published on this area on multiple times. Abdi is also a member of the Australian College of Nursing with current research project on global faculty investigating internationally qualified nurses’ integration and support. He is also a CENA member and committee member for CENA Victoria branch and National Advocacy Committee (New). Abdi supervises multiple nursing HDR candidates undertaking honours and PhDs.
