Evaluation of real-time AI screening tool for screening of sepsis in Emergency Department waiting rooms
12:30 PM - 12:35 PMBiography
Dr Kabil is an early career clinician researcher. and her PhD explored the facilitators and barriers of intravenous fluid administration in patients with sepsis in emergency departments. As a practicing emergency nurse, Dr Kabil continues to work on improving sepsis care by gaining a holistic understanding of all identified factors. She leads a team of clinicians who are driven to translate evidence-based care. The team is currently working on the - Systematic approach for early recognition and treatment of sepsis in emergency departments (The SAFETY project). This program of research includes quantitative and qualitative exploration of recognition of sepsis at triage; evaluating the use of Artificial Intelligence to recognise patients with risk of developing sepsis while in emergency department waiting rooms; and co-designing interventions to implement across emergency departments to improve timely recognition and management of sepsis.
