Ben McKenzie is the Stream Lead of the Emergency Nursing Postgraduate course at the University of Tasmania and a Clinical Nurse Educator at Monash Health in Victoria. He is a qualified paramedic, but ultimately decided to follow his passion in emergency nursing. Ben began his nursing journey in a large Victorian Emergency Department in 2014 and has never left. Over this time, he has worked and taught in a variety of specialties, including medical/surgical, intensive care and cardiac. Beginning in ED as a new graduate nurse, through working his way up to associate nurse manager, Ben is now working as a Clinical Nurse Educator. Ben has facilitated clinical placements for undergraduate nurses, trained undergraduate medical students and now manages the postgraduate nursing portfolio in his ED. Ben is passionate about teaching emergency nurses the foundations of emergency care and empowering them in their careers.
