NOT QUIET ED - Noise Over time, Quantified Understanding of Individualised Exposure Over Time in the Emergency Department - Nursing
2:15 PM - 2:35 PMBiography
Dr Anna Mysliborski is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine at Barwon Health, University Hospital, Geelong. She began her emergency career as a nurse, graduating in 2001, working as an Emergency CNS and completing a Master of Nursing, before moving into medicine in 2013 and becoming a FACEM in 2024. Her NOT QUIET ED work began as a passion project and has since grown into major research aimed at tackling excessive noise in the Emergency Department and across the wider hospital ecosystem. The initial research benchmarks noise against OHS standards, with plans to further explore how acoustic noise is experienced — moving beyond the simple sound pressure levels traditinally used to assess hearing-loss risk. The Project has been enabled by a SVANTEK donation of five SV104 personal dosimeters, secured after she pitched the project in person via a sidetrip to Poland while on holiday.
