Who CAIRS?……about Corneal Allogenic Intrastromal Ring Segments
Abstract
CAIRS is a novel and exciting new treatment for Keratoconus using human donor tissue.
Individually crafted donor segments are inserted into ring tunnels that are created in the patient’s corneal stroma which helps reshape the cornea and aims to improve visual acuity outcomes.
Embark on a journey around Australia, from wetlabs to 1st cases, manual cut donor tissue to cuts made with femtosecond lasers, a fascinating insight into why this CAIRS procedure has grabbed the attention of our corneal surgeons.
