Gavin is Clinical director and Director of clinical research and innovation at IVFAustralia in Sydney. After qualifying in the UK from Oxford and Cambridge Universities, including a PhD in reproductive immunology, he moved to Sydney in 2005. He has an active research program that includes natural killer cell testing and immune therapy, genomic screening, and novel technologies for sperm assessment and selection. He has academic appointments at the University of New South Wales and University of Technology Sydney, and has been an Associate Editor for Human Reproduction and Human Reproduction Update. In the last 3 years Gavin has been working on a book for a general audience about the nature of reproduction, called “The origin of hope”.
