Abstract
Have you ever been asked to administer a medication but you don't really know what is used for or how to reconstitute it?
Have you ever been asked to add additives to a primary fluid but you don't feel confident doing it?
Have you ever been asked to make a Constant Rate Infusion but you haven't done it before?
If you answer yes to any of these questions, then this lecture is for you. Medical math is a skill that every nurse, no matter if you work in General Practice, Surgery, or ECC should master.
This lecture will cover the most common drugs used as a Constant Rate Infusion, their pharmacology, compatibility with other drugs, and how to administer them.

Biography
Sabrina was born in Argentina, but she’s been living in Australia for 11 years. Before becoming a Veterinary Nurse, she completed a Bachelor’s in English/Spanish Medical and Scientific Translation so she had never worked with animals before. Her routine consisted of teaching English in different companies and translating documents. However, she had always felt there was something missing. It wasn’t until she was doing a Wildlife Rescue Workshop that she heard about vet nurses. That is correct, there are no veterinary nurses in Argentina. Then she found the perfect opportunity to pursue her passion. She graduated as a Veterinary Nurse in 2016 and started working as an Emergency Veterinary Nurse straight away in Queensland. It did not take long for her to fall in love with the adrenaline and chaos involved in Emergency and Critical Care Nursing. She completed the Elevate Nursing Program in ECC and the Certificate in ECC through Vets Now. This year she will start working towards getting her Veterinary Tech Specialty in ECC. She also teaches Veterinary Nursing at the Melbourne Polytechnic, and she has been recently selected to be part of the first Greencross Nurse Advisory Committee.
When she is not working, you can find her at the beach swimming or on a trip chasing Orcas. She has two beautiful cats and a very spoilt Miniature Foxy.
