Abstract
Objective: Brachycephalic breeds are becoming more and more popular because of their fun 'pocket rocket' personalities. However brachycephalic's also present a unique nursing challenge for veterinary staff. Ensuring your team is aware of their requirements and everyone is on the same page you can exercise safe, gold standard and stress-free care for all of our brachycephalic friends
Learning outcomes: Be able to identify what a brachycephalic breed is, understand why their anatomy makes them unique, understand what BOAS is, identify clinical signs of BOAS, understand an oral examination for brachycephalic , consider their preoperative-peri-post operative requirements, improve brachycephalic specific husbandry.

Biography
Kimberley has been nursing for the past 13 years and still loves it as much as day 1 of her career. She starting out as a work experience student and now is working as the referral nurse manager for a university. She has developed a special interest in continuing professional development, research, training in anaesthesia and analgesia and keeping up to date with new surgical techniques to benefit our patients. Kimberley is passionate about teaching new nurses coming in to the field, along with vet students to nurture them in their growing roles and inspire passion and drive for their future career.
