The ups and downs of blood pressure
Abstract
Blood pressure: What is it? How do I measure it? What's normal? The difference between high and low? How and when should I treat blood pressure abnormalities?
We will discuss what exactly blood pressure is, how it is derived in the body, how to measure BP accurately and what we do when it isn't normal. Giving you a comprehensive overview of the physiological mechanisms, appropriate treatments including vasopressors, and what may happen if abnormal blood pressure is not treated promptly.
Together we will work through cases to troubleshoot blood pressure abnormalities and determine appropriate treatment plans and the outcome of these patients.
