Biography
Edwina Wilkes BVSc MPharm FANZCVS DVStud
Edwina graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Sydney in 2005 and worked as a junior associate veterinarian at Morphettville Equine Clinic before commencing an internship at Agnes Banks Equine Clinic. She worked as a seasonal veterinarian at Newmarket Equine Hospital, UK in 2007 and completed an internship in equine theriogenology at Virginia Tech, USA in 2008. Edwina returned to the University of Sydney in 2010 and graduated with a Master of Pharmacy in 2012. She commenced a residency in Equine Internal Medicine and a Doctorate of Veterinary Studies at Charles Sturt University in 2013 with a primary research focus on equine parasitology. She completed the fellowship exams in Equine Medicine in 2017 and registered as a specialist in Equine Internal Medicine. In 2019, Edwina completed a 6 month internal medicine fellowship at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Kentucky, USA. She was employed as a Senior Lecturer in Equine Medicine at Charles Sturt University for 4 years after completing her residency. Edwina relocated to Melbourne in 2022 and is now a Regulatory Veterinarian and the anti-doping manager at Racing Victoria.
