Dental radiography made simple

Abstract

Producing diagnostic dental xrays certainly present challenges when we see such variations in our patients’ anatomy, let alone using a technique that is steeped in geometrical mystery! The new expectation is that Veterinary Nurses and Technicians are to take the role of producing diagnostic dental images with little to no formal training in the skills required.

This lecture will focus on what determines a diagnostic dental xray, demystifying the bisecting angle technique and introduce a simple to follow approach to achieving diagnostic dental xrays for a full-series examination of our canine and feline dental patients. Common errors will be explored and tips on correction provided, along with some useful tricks on getting those 'hard-to-get' images and the answer to the question on where to move the zygomatic arch too?! Test your skills in an interactive session and grow your knowledge in diagnostic dental radiography.
