The New Blueprint for Student Arrivals: Data-Driven Engagement at Deakin Res
3:45 PM - 4:30 PMAbstract Overview
Join Deakin Residential Services and Browzer for an inside look at Australia’s first hyper-localised pre-arrival engagement platform. This session goes beyond tick-box compliance to show how mobile-first, building-specific content has transformed the resident transition.
Backed by high completion rates and glowing student feedback, we share the data-driven insights and future roadmap that are setting a new standard for arrivals across the ANZ region.
Jordan Brushfield (DRS) and Mike Ritchie (Browzer) will present the results of the first Australian implementation of this hyper-personalised digital onboarding platform. We will move past the limitations of traditional housing portals to show how granular data can transform the resident experience.
Key highlights of the session include:
The Data Story
A deep dive into high completion rates and engagement metrics that prove Gen Z students prefer mobile-first, ‘just-in-time’ information over dense email trails.
The Student Voice
Qualitative feedback from DRS residents, illustrating how building-specific content reduces first-day anxiety and builds immediate belonging.
Operational Intelligence
How real-time insights allow staff to identify disengaged students before they arrive, enabling proactive support.
The Roadmap
A look at future plans for the DRS/Browzer partnership, including how we are using 2025–26 data to evolve the arrival strategy for even greater future impact.
By sharing the raw data and honest lessons from the Deakin Residential Services rollout, we provide the APSAA community with a benchmark for modern, student-centric onboarding. We will demonstrate that when student experience is prioritised through hyper-localised digital engagement, administrative efficiency and institutional readiness follow naturally.
