Synopsis:
This workshop will explore suicide postvention through the lens of residential accommodation settings. It will introduce key guiding principles of postvention, how they apply to the residential context, and what institutions can do to help ensure a coordinated, safe, and supportive response.
The crucial role of planning will be highlighted through interactive discussions and activities designed to support participants to consider who should be involved, what activities and interventions to prioritise, and how they can access support in their response.
Learning outcomes:
1. Understand why it is important to be prepared
2. Identify key staff to include in a response team
3. Knowledge of key resources and supports available
